Events


DAMA-RMC generally holds four Chapter meetings annually on topics pursuant to DAMA’s goals and has attained broad appeal in the region a resource for Information Resource Management.

Meetings include a variety of featured presenters, special interest group panels, case studies, technical showcases, informal round-table discussions, and offer opportunities for invaluable sharing between professionals in our field.

In 2023, DAMA-RMC transitioned to a paid membership model with exclusive professional member benefits and events. First meetings will always be free for DAMA-RMC guest members.

    Many organizations treat AI as a prompt problem. Data teams know it is a data problem. This session walks the difference between a data engineer, a prompt engineer, and a context engineer, then the part people skip: the stop rule. How do you know the model should quit and hand the work back to a person? We use contra-examples, not just happy-path metrics, and we attach ROI to the gate instead of forecasting a science project. Conversational, vendor-agnostic, built for a DAMA room.

    What the room leaves with
    1. A plain-language map of the three roles, including the why.
    2. Five questions that tell you when to stop the machine.
    3. A way to prove the value of a human gate, not just estimate it.

    Nathan Platter is a Lincoln-based data and AI practitioner with 13+ years inside Fortune 500 analytics teams, including NBCUniversal, 3M, Sleep Number, and SAP Concur. He builds compliance-aware AI workflows live on stage, works in enterprise AI data management, and runs Platter Analytics.
